GMI trains personnel to properly react and respond to Homeland Security Threats In accordance with the Department of Homeland Security, the GMI Group is aggressively training their employees on the proper ways to recognize and respond to acts of terrorism and threats to the buildings we work in daily. Unlike airports, train stations and public venues, commercial buildings and campuses are considered soft targets. GMI wants our people to be safe, vigilant and prepared for the potential of undesireable conditions and states of emergencies. Our training includes regular meetings to discuss the proper procedures to assist building tenants and guests in their egress from these threats and to suggest alternative, safe locations. Also, we train our employees to be part of the 'first responder' element that regains command and control of situations by assisting property management and law enforcement with our unique building knowledge and by maintaining a calm support posture for the good of the tenants and victims. Furthermore, it is our goal to be on the crash cart, CPR trained and equipped, to lend aid until paramedics have taken over these duties. From Oklahoma City to 9/11 to Virginia Tech, tenants and guests in facilities look to familiar people for support in a crisis event. GMI wants you to know we will be there to support you in all the good times, and if need be, the worst of times.
