GMI Group wins Best of Suwanee Business Award for 2008
 
 
 
City of Suwanee, Georgia and the US Local Business Association has awarded the GMI Group with the"Best of Suwanee Business Award for 2008".  The City of Suwanee and the USLBA identifies local companies that have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.  The awarded companies enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category.  The 2008 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity.  Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

Digital Photo Frame Winner from Atlanta BOMA Show 2008
 
This year's winner of the Atlanta BOMA Show booth prize is Miller Getz, Senior Property Manager for Duke Realty Corporation.  Miller's business card was drawn from a bowl that collected cards during the Show several weeks ago.  The digital photo frame has the ability to store and slideshow pictures while also showing home movies.  Miller was presented with the frame on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 by Joe Woodson, President of the GMI Group, Inc.  Congratulations, Miller Getz!

GMI Group and Planet Earth Friendly team up for Earth Day activities
 
 
GMI Group and Planet Earth Friendly is teaming up for this year's Earth Day, and educating our next generation is our target.  This effort kicks off the first annual 'E.L.F.' Event, which stands for Earth-loving folks. The combined team will be hosting several Earth Day presentations to school children in an attempt to gain more stewards of the Earth, and train future generations how to respect, nurture and protect our delicate eco system.  Each new 'Eco-Guardian' will be given a Earth Day shirt for participating in the presentations and also, a challenge.  The challenge will be for these young people to tell others that Earth Day is everyday, not once a year, and to remember the three Rs; recycle, refresh and renew.

GMI acquires Planet Earth Friendly and becomes US Green Industry Leader 
 
GMI proudly announces the acquistion of Planet Earth Friendly (PEF) and their professional staff.  PEF has had several years of success in converting businesses and facilities to green energy uses, alternative technologies, and green building program initiatives.  PEF will continue to operate under GMI's newest division, Eco-Dynamic Solutions.  With this acquistion, GMI Group finds itself posed in the leadership role for the US Green Industry.

GMI adds IICRC HST certification
 
A member of our staff has successfully completed certification for the IICRC Health and Safety Technician Course held at the ISSA Tradeshow last month in Orlando, Florida.  This certification includes blood borne pathogen cleaning, HAZMAT, OSHA and MSDS Hazardous Communication programs.  GMI Group is currently registering to be a Certified Firm with IICRC.

GMI Group adds new office in Rome!
 
Rome, GA - GMI has expanded its presence in the State of Georgia with the opening of a new office in Rome.  Heading up this office is Stacy Price, Area Manager for the Northern Georgia Operations.  Stacy brings quality years of property management, marketing and customer service experience to this position. Her leadership skills will benefit GMI's success in this region.  Quoted from their Corporate Office, "Rome surely was not built in one day, but it took Stacy to complete it!"

Kimberly-Clark Helps MN Flood Victims

August 30, 2007

Kimberly-Clark Professional is donating thousands of health and hygiene products to residents and businesses in Winona, MN, to help them clean up from the extensive damage caused by the recent flooding.

According to the company’s press release, the donation, which will be delivered to the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce, includes:

 

  • 10,000 Wypall L40 wipers, a general-purpose disposable wiper that absorbs liquids, lubricants, and oils
  • 1,200 Kleenguard A40 liquid and particle protection coveralls (600 of which feature a hood and boot combination for head-to-toe protection)
  • 700 pairs of Kleenguard G80 neoprene/latex chemical resistant gloves
  • 1,400 pairs of Kleenguard V20 comfort eye protection
  • 500 Kleenguard A70 chemical spray protection aprons
  • 200 bottles of Kimcare moisturizing instant hand sanitizer
  • 60 rolls of Kimtech Prep wipers for the Wettask refillable wiping system along with 20 Wettask system buckets.
